ho il piacere di invitarVi personalmente, tutti nessuno escluso , all’evento “Giorni della Ricerca” che si svolgerà il prossimo giovedì 3 novembre 2016, alle ore 11:00, presso la Sala Baroni del complesso Monumentale dello Steri, frutto della collaborazione tra il nostro Ateneo e l’Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro (AIRC).
Durante la conferenza, i partecipanti potranno confrontarsi con scienziati e testimonial dell’AIRC, che illustreranno i passi avanti fatti negli anni dalla ricerca oncologica, raccontando i lor
o vissuti e i risultati delle loro esperienze sul campo.
La manifestazione sarà un’occasione importante per trasmettere agli studenti presenti la passione e l’entusiasmo che guidano i ricercatori AIRC nella loro attività quotidiana. L’incontro del 3 Novembre sarà la Sesta Edizione del Progetto AIRC, che ha già riscosso un buon successo in tutte le sedi coinvolte negli scorsi anni. Da qualche anno l’impianto delle conferenze è stato parzialmente rivisto, per essere ancora più efficace nel raggiungimento degli obiettivi primari: informare i ragazzi sui più recenti progressi della ricerca sul cancro, sottolineare l’importanza della ricerca per la cura e motivare i giovani al lavoro del ricercatore, grazie alle storie di chi ha già scelto questa professione e di chi, grazie alla ricerca, ha superato la malattia.
L’incontro che si terrà nella sede dell’Ateneo di Palermo si svolgerà contemporaneamente presso le sedi dell’Università di Milano, Salerno e Verona e sarà divulgato mezzo stampa e televisioni.
Il moderatore dell’incontro sarà il Dott. Giovanni Carrada, Biologo che si occupa di comunicazione della scienza e della tecnologia dal 1989. Autore della trasmissione televisiva SuperQuark condotta da Piero Angela, ha collaborato con diversi periodici, ha scritto libri di divulgazione scientifica e ha progettato mostre e musei a carattere scientifico. Oggi si divide soprattutto fra attività di consulenza, corsi di formazione e ideazione di manifestazioni culturali tese a promuovere il dialogo fra scienza, tecnologia e società.
